Rev. Brenda Lewis

DSCF1032Brenda Lewis, the mother of one daughter, Jenell Thompson. Reverend Lewis is a member of the Allen Temple   Baptist Church, 850 International Blvd., Oakland, California, 94621, where the Reverend Doctor J. Alfred Smith Jr., is Pastor.  Rev. Lewis is also one of the Director for the Ministers In   Training Program, and the Worship Coordinator for the 11:00   a.m. morning service at Allen Temple, B.C.  While she was a   member of the Cosmopolitan Baptist Church, in Oakland, California, she was an active part of the ministerial staff.  Rev. Lewis was appointed Pastor over the Outreach Ministries at   Cosmopolitan Baptist Church.  Rev. Lewis is the Visionary/Founder of Word of Faith Ministries, San Pablo, CA.   While going out into the San Francisco/East Bay area preaching the Gospel, Rev. Brenda Lewis, also facilitates workshops, seminars, and conferences.  She was formerly the Chief Executive Administrator of Robinson Outreach Ministries,   Inc., Oakland, CA, and, an Associate Professor/Instructor of the   Ministerial Training Union, Oakland, CA. Rev. Brenda Lewis   was also installed and served as Co-Pastor of Powerhouse   Community Church on March 13, 1999 for four years.  She currently works at the College of Alameda as an Administrative Secretary for the Dean, of her department, from 1988 to present.   Rev. Lewis is a graduate of Patten University in Oakland, CA,   where she received her BA Degree in Pastoral Studies, fall, 1994 to spring, 2000, and is presently an Adjunct Professor in the   Pastoral Studies department at Patten University.  She is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley, Graduate Theological Union,   American Baptist Seminary of the West, Berkeley, CA., receiving her Masters of Divinity, Spring, 2005. Brenda Lewis is the 1998 award recipient of the Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA) for her outstanding work in Ministry.  She has   received awards from Chabot College Student Union recognized for outstanding leadership and work within the within the community.

She was also a devoted daughter caring for her mother Audrey Lewis, who had a stroke in September, 1996 and passed in January, 2006.  Rev. Lewis is an Administrator, Activist, a former innovative Cosmetologist, Educator, Executive, Facilitator, Mentor, Parent, Professor, Psalmist, Student, Trainer, Visionary, and Faithful Friend to all who meet her.  Sister Brenda wants only to be known as a messenger of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  “I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” Galatians2:20 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, Before you were born I sanctified you, I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
