Mission:

To provide outreach information
to persons living with AIDS and
their families
To assist with the provision of community services,
i.e. case management,
transportation, and food via the Refuge Ministries HIV/AIDS Case
Management Program located at the Community Outreach Center;
To visit persons living with HIV/AIDS
at home and in local hospitals.
To work with all auxiliaries and
boards of Allen Temple to better
coordinate
health services. |
Goals and Objectives: |
To work towards developing specific
programs for residents at Allen Temple IV to meet their needs for
case managers, food, transportation, etc.
To outreach to other churches to emphasize the need for them
to
develop HIV/AIDS Ministries.
To develop
an outreach program to assist certain regions in Africa
affected by HIV/AIDS.

Ministry Highlights:
|
World AIDS Sunday Emphasis;
African American Church and AIDS Ministry chairperson was the guest
speaker at the Balm in Gilead, Inc., Institute Conference held in
Atlanta, GA. The theme was "Compassion". The Institute
is composed of Black Churches, and its mission is to stop the spread
of HIV/AIDS among Black Americans, and to support those already
infected.
Provided comfort for four Allen Temple families whose Loved one
has
died from AIDS.
Provided outreach to an AIDS Education Project in Zimbabwe. The
Chairperson was a guest lecturer and presented chemistry textbooks,
manuals, wall charts, and microscopes to their Strengthening Science
for Women Project
in Zimbabwe.
Worked closely with Allen Temple Housing and Economic Development
Corporation in developing criteria for evaluating applications for
potential residents for Allen Temple Arms IV, for disabled persons
living with HIV/AIDS.
