In order to combat credit card fraud, major credit card companies got together and published standards for securing credit card information. The result of this was the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards. These standards define the best practices for storing, transmitting, and securing payment information. To be PCI compliant, processors must adhere to a strict set of requirements with regard to how they store, hold, and secure credit card information. Allen Temple WebView uses applications provided by Shelby Systems, Inc., who has partnered with Payment Data Systems, Inc. collect payment information. Payment information is stored on their secure servers to ensure that it is kept safe. Both Shelby Systems, Inc., and Payment Data Systems, Inc. are PCI compliant.
