The Allen Temple Development Corporation is
a corporation founded to manage and maintain senior housing properties
developed from the vision of Dr. J. Alfred Smith, Sr., to provide housing
and to enhance the quality of life of senior citizen's in far East Oakland.
The entity is a ministry of Allen Temple Baptist Church and receives
much of its spiritual and cultural support from the mother church.
The housing is in the form of
two buildings Allen Temple 1 & 2 that consist of 125 units. The
residents are provided a full range of enrichment programs, including:
medical, recreational, transportation, educational and spiritual activities,
in a safe and clean environment where the seniors are respected and
take part in the decision making regarding their homes.
The Allen Temple Development
Corporation is the owner of the property, however, the Allen Temple
Development Corporation has entered into a business relationship with
American Baptist Housing of the West to perform fiscal and personnel
management responsibilities. Our relationship has lasted many years
due to our mutual love of God and desire to serve seniors.
