This Lenten season, from Ash Wednesday to Resurrection Sunday, we invite believers to reflect, reconnect with God and serve others through spiritual disciplines as we move Ad Deum…Toward God.
In our Weekly Lenten Guide prepared by our Prayer Warriors and Sunday School Ministries, you’ll find daily themes and scriptures suitable for personal or small group study, which will help you embrace a season of deeper devotion and strengthening our individual and corporate spiritual practices through fasting, prayer, and spiritual meditation.

We are proud to share that our Senior Pastor, Dr. Jacqueline Thompson, has co-authored a timely and thoughtful op-ed in The Root titled “Our Ancestors Fought With Love — Now It’s Our Turn.”
The article reflects on a defining truth in the Black Church tradition: love has never meant silence. The love of our ancestors was courageous, disciplined, and public. It confronted injustice without surrendering to hatred. We encourage you to take a few moments to read the full piece here.
The article also introduces Love Free, a national movement rooted in faith and moral courage. Love Free is calling people of conscience to affirm that love and liberation still belong together — and to commit to practicing that love in tangible ways. You can learn more about Love Free and sign the pledge here.
We’re excited to launch a brand-new Basketball + STEM Program at Allen Temple in partnership with Science on the Court, combining training, tutoring, and technology for kids up to 12U! This unique partnership gives young athletes a place to develop their skills on the court while gaining confidence in math, reading, robotics, and coding in the classroom.

As we look toward 2026 and all that God has in store, we invite you to join the Prayer Warriors Ministry for our annual Prayer Consecration for the Allen Temple Baptist Church Family beginning January 1.
This year’s theme is “31 Days of Prayer: The ACTS of Prayer”—a focused journey through the ACTS prayer model: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. Each day, we will reflect on a scripture tied to one of these pillars as we strengthen our individual and collective prayer life.
To enhance our time of consecration will also feature daily devotional reflections on the ACTS model written by Allen Temple members, offering wisdom and inspiration from within our own church family.
